Jay Beagle Suffers Upper Body Injury, Exits Game Vs. Sabres

The Washington Capitals have announced that center Jay Beagle will not return to Wednesday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres after suffering an upper-body injury in the second period.

The Capitals were already a bit short-handed with defenseman John Carlson and center Michael Latta also sitting out of the game due to injuries. Recently called up center Zach Sill took over the fourth line center role due to Latta’s absence. The Caps cannot afford to lose Beagle. He’s been their best face-off man, winning 58.1 percent of his faceoffs, and has been a huge part of their penalty kill’s success.
