Lost in the shuffle of sooooooo many storylines in Monday’s 6-1 victory was a relatively garbage-time goal scored by Jay Beagle. It was Beagle’s first career NHL power play goal, in both the regular season and playoffs.
It was also Beagle’s first power play goal since 2010-2011, when he scored one while with the Hershey Bears.
Sure, Beagle rarely plays on the power play, and got those late-game minutes because of the score, but this is literally the one story-line we’re better no one else will write about, at least initially.
It was Beagle’s fifth career playoff goal and second of this postseason.
