One of the best moves of the summer for the Caps was the re-signing of 23-year old Jakub Vrana to a two-year, $6.7 million contract extension. The left winger quickly became a fan favorite after making the Caps’ opening night roster in 2017. Even though his rookie season had its ups and downs, Vrana made a splash in his playoff debut. He scored his first playoff goal against the Penguins, and scored the first goal in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Vegas Golden Knights. He ended that postseason with 8 points in 23 games.
