The NHL released all 32 teams’ regular season schedules for the 2024-25 season today, as the Capitals will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary this upcoming year.
Washington will open its 50th season at home on Oct. 12 against the New Jersey Devils. Washington and New Jersey, which originally entered the NHL as the Kansas City Scouts, both began play in the 1974-75 season.
On Oct. 29, Washington will host the New York Rangers in a rematch of their first-round playoff series from this past season, where the Capitals were swept in four games by the Rangers.
