To reach the Calder Cup finals, the Hershey Bears had to get past the Portland Pirates, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, and the Toronto Marlies. On the flip-side, the Lake Erie Monsters beat the Rockford IceHogs, Grand Rapids Griffins, and the Ontario Reign.
Coming into the series, the Bears had a post-season record of 11-6, while the Monsters posted an 11-2 record. Their two losses came in the second round against Grand Rapids. Coming into Hershey riding a five game win streak, the Monsters did not want to lose their momentum.
Hershey wrapped up an incredible series against the Toronto Marlies on Sunday, May 30th up in Toronto winning four games out of five.
