Dmitry Orlov considered the first goal lucky, but he shrugged and grinned that he didn’t care. He had scored all the same, and after last season, that was more than good enough for him. On the bench, he was giddy and laughing.
He had the same expression on his face the next game, finding the net for a second time in two games. This score was anything but lucky, a laser from the left faceoff circle. It was the only goal the Washington Capitals needed in a 1-0 win against the Edmonton Oilers.
“I still get confidence every game,” Orlov said.
