Grappling with an undisclosed injury, minor in nature according to the Washington Capitals but serious enough that they made an emergency recall for insurance, defenseman Tim Gleason participated without issue in Monday morning’s optional skate and said he would play in Game 3 against the New York Rangers.
“Yes sir,” Gleason replied when asked if he was good to go.
Gleason had missed half of Sunday’s practice for a doctor’s checkup, he said later, but returned midway and finished with his teammates, taking rushes on the third pairing with his usual partner, Mike Green. Coach Barry Trotz was less committal when addressing reporters later, calling Gleason “a probable.
