It turns out, the Capitals want to keep Charlie Lindgren after all.
The back-up goaltender signed an extension for three years and $9 million dollars, locking in his tandem with Logan Thompson, who earlier this season signed a six-year, $35.1 million contract.
There was some question as to whether Lindgren would sign after Thompson signed his contract, since he’s been playing for a team-friendly $1.1 million for the last few years.
Here is the press release:
The Washington Capitals have re-signed goaltender Charlie Lindgren to a three-year, $9 million contract extension, senior vice president and general manager Chris Patrick announced today.
