The Capitals have re-signed left wing Chandler Stephenson to a one-year, $1.05 million contract, but the team is now $1.3 million over the NHL’s $81.5 million salary cap.
Though Stephenson didn’t go to arbitration, Christian Djoos did, getting awarded more money than the Caps can afford.
This, of course, means changes are coming, which may or may not involve Stephenson and Djoos.
But in the meantime, let’s be happy for the Stanley Cup winner.
