Defenseman John Carlson recorded career highs in goals (12), assists (43) and points (55) in 2014-15. Carlson’s 55 points marked the 30th time in franchise history that a Washington defenseman reached the 50-point plateau and the most points earned by a defenseman in a season since 2009-10 (Mike Green, 76). Carlson’s 43 assists rank tied for 14th on the Capitals single-season assist by a defenseman list and he becomes the 10th defenseman in franchise history to tally 40 assists in a season.
