(Caps Outsider)
The Capitals traded away seldom-used defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler today to New Jersey. In return, they somehow get a third-round draft pick from Arizona. I’m not entirely sure how that works out, but lo-and-behold, Siegenthaler is no longer a Cap.
The move might even be a relief for Siegenthaler who might actually get to play going forward, though it seems like a wasted effort on the part of the Capitals, who drafted him in 2015 in the second round, worked him into the lineup, and ended up benching him when the blue line ran too deep.
