Caps-Flyers: How the Game Was Won

The Washington Capitals became the first team in the league this season to hit 100 points after defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 last night. The game got off to a stellar start for the Caps when Alex Ovechkin scored his 35th goal of the season and the 888th goal of his career. They kept the good vibes going through the first two periods with goals from Brandon Duhaime and Andrew Mangiapane in addition to a pretty solid defensive performance from both forwards and defensemen.

Things took a turn in the third period, however, when the Flyers came out with renewed energy.
