Capitals fans stretch far and wide across the world and in the Southern Hemisphere, and fans from Australia are making some noise, establishing the first Australian-based Capitals fan group. With Nathan Walker, the first Australian to be drafted and play in the NHL and a Stanley Cup champion with the Capitals, he’s become somewhat of a cult hero to Australian hockey, and the team has gained some exposure ‘Down Under.’
The group consists of members right across the country from Perth on the west coast to Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast on the east and even the nation’s capital, Canberra.
