The Washington Capitals gained some respectability back with a shutout victory over the Carolina Hurricanes to close out their season series, by way of a 2-0 score.
Thanks to this score belongs to the whole team effort, which was not present during the previous game at Capital One Arena against the Devils.
But more specifically the Capitals have a big thanks to give Alex Ovechkin for setting the tone with two goals and Ilya Samsonov for shutting out the Canes.
While the Washington Capitals took care of a number of the improvements needed after the game against the Devils, they really can’t call the Capital One Arena avenged until they carry out this same kind of effort against the New Jersey Devils.
