Capitals vs. Canucks Recap: Caps Squeeze Two Points Out of 2-1 OT Win

Did Alex Ovechkin score? Nope.

Plus: The Washington Capitals asked a lot of goaltender Logan Thompson tonight, especially during the second period, and he delivered. Thompson bailed his teammates out many times (some might say too many) and kept the Caps in the game.

Minus: The second period was an ugly one for the Capitals—it was full of bad defense and tough turnovers. Additionally, the Canucks had 20 shots on goal, and the Caps had…four. That won’t cut it against any team in the NHL, especially teams missing one of their star players that should be an easier opponent than usual.
