The Capitals were unable to completely crawl out of an early hole and fall to the Bruins 4 to 2.
Here’s Thursday night’s Plus/Minus:
Plus: Alex Ovechkin’s second period power play goal was the 266th man advantage tally of his career, passing Brett Hull for 2nd all time (Dave Andreychuk - 274).
Minus: Washington was credited with 6 giveaways, three times as many as Boston.
Seven more notes on the game:
- 33 seconds into the contest Jeremy Lauzon got the Bruins on the scoreboard. Ultimately it was Ilya Samsonov’s right skate that put the puck into the net but Lauzon still gets credit for his first of the season.
