The Washington Capitals traded Jakub Vrana, Richard Panik, a 2021 1st round pick and a 2022 2nd round pick to the Detroit Red Wings for Anthony Mantha. In a separate move, the Caps traded a 5th round pick to the Philadelphia Flyers for Michael Raffl.
Vrana, a key player in the 2018 Stanley Cup run, had 77 points, including 36 goals, in 108 games over the last two seasons. However, he had zero points over the last two playoff seasons. Vrana, 25, a restricted free agent at season’s end, was drafted 13th overall by the Caps in 2014.
