The Washington Capitals have traded defenseman Dmitry Orlov and fourth liner Garnet Hathaway to the Boston Bruins, the team announced Thursday. In return, the Bruins are sending their 2023 first-round pick, 2025 second-round pick, 2024 third-round pick, and veteran winger to Washington. The Capitals are retaining 50% of Orlov’s salary in the deal, and the Minnesota Wild are retaining another 20% in exchange for Boston’s 2023 fifth-round draft pick to keep the Bruins cap compliant.
#Caps now have six picks in the 2023 NHL Draft, including two first-round picks and three total picks in the first two rounds.
