The Washington Capitals earned a 6-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres thanks in large part to scoring the first four goals of the night in a span of just over four minutes.
Two of those four were scored by Jakub Vrana. Chandler Stephenson lit the lamp and Brendan Leipsic scored his first goal as a Capital.
Vrana got the scoring started on a breakaway goal at 6:17 off a pass from Tom Wilson.
The Caps doubled their lead with an odd-man, 3-on-1 rush down the ice from Leipsic to Travis Boyd to Stephenson.
