ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have signed defenseman Connor Hobbs to a three-year, entry-level contract, senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.
Hobbs, 19, registered 41 points (19 goals, 22 assists) in 58 games with the Regina Pats (WHL) in 2015-16. The 6’1”, 196-pound defenseman ranked second among Pats skaters in penalty minutes last season (106) and led Regina defensemen in goals and points. In addition, Hobbs ranked fifth among WHL defensemen in power-play goals (10) and tied for fifth in goals and penalty minutes. He recorded 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 12 games during the 2016 WHL playoffs and ranked tied for first among WHL defensemen in power-play goals (3), tied for third in goals and fifth in points.
