The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Zach Sill from the American Hockey League, the team announced on Tuesday.
The move could mean several things for Washington. Fourth-line center Michael Latta suffered an arm injury in a fight with Nicolas Deslauriers against the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night, and the Capitals could just be securing more forward depth in case Latta is unable to play. Washington also has an extra forward in Stanislav Galiev.
But Sill has been known to drop his gloves in the NHL, with nine fights just last season, and with the Capitals playing the Sabres for a second straight game, they might have brought Sill up to provide a physical presence.
