Capitals recall Connor Carrick, Paul Carey; re-assign Zach Sill, Aaron Ness

The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Paul Carey and defenseman Connor Carrick from their American Hockey League affiliate while also re-assigning center Zach Sill and defenseman Aaron Ness, the team announced.

The return of Sill and Ness is most likely related to both nearing waiver eligibility, as after 10 games played or 30 days on the NHL roster since last clearing waivers, a player again needs waivers to be sent down to the AHL. Sill has played in nine games, Ness eight.

Ness was an emergency recall on Thursday morning, as the team was unsure if Taylor Chorney would be able to play because of flu symptoms.
