Capitals Re-sign Stanislav Galiev

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have re-signed right wing Stanislav Galiev to a two-year, $1.15 million contract, senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today. Galiev’s contract is two way during the 2015-16 season and one way during the 2016-17 season.

Galiev, 23, played in two games with the Capitals during the 2014-15 season, scoring one goal. The Moscow native made his NHL debut on April 8 against Boston and scored his first NHL goal on April 11 against the Rangers. Galiev registered 45 points (25 goals, 20 assists) in 67 games with Hershey (AHL) last season and set career highs in goals, assists and points.
