ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have re-signed defenseman Rasmus Sandin to a five-year contract extension, president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today. Sandin’s contract will carry an average annual value of $4.6 million.
Sandin, who turns 24 on March 7, has recorded 20 points (3g, 17a) in 52 games this season. The 5’11”, 189-pound defenseman ranks second on the Capitals in ice time per game (21:19), which marks a single-season career high.
