Capitals Re-assign Ryan Stanton to Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have re-assigned defenseman Ryan Stanton to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.

Stanton, 26, has registered 27 points (four goals, 23 assists) and 71 penalty minutes in 120 career NHL games with Washington, Vancouver and Chicago. He made his Capitals debut on Jan. 19 at Columbus and appeared in 54 games with the Canucks last season. Stanton recorded 11 points (three goals, eight assists) and 35 penalty minutes in 2014-15 and set NHL career-highs in goals, plus/minus (+9) and penalty minutes and ranked fourth among Canucks defenseman in hits (93) and blocked shots (113).
