Following the conclusion of rookie camp this September, the Washington Capitals will take a team of prospects to Estero, Fla., near Fort Myers, for a four-team tournament Sept. 12-15, according to a news release.
In Estero, the Capitals will face teams of prospects from the Tampa Bay Lightning, Nashville Predators and Florida Panthers. They are expected to take a full roster of roughly 22 players, then return before the start of regular training camp. There are likely to be restrictions on experience for those involved, giving the organizations a better chance to look at their youngest players.
