The hip check is often a lost art, but on Friday, Kelowna Rockets captain Madison Bowey revived it at the expense of the Portland Winterhawks' Evan Weinger on eye-popping fashion on Friday.
During Game 5 of the hotly contested Portland-Kelowna semifinal series in the Western Hockey League, Weinger tried to slip between Bowey and the boards in the neutral zone. Bowey lined him up perfectly, sending Weinger airborne into the camera bay between the benches at Prospera Place.
That fairly demands a Jim Ross-style narration.
