The Washington Capitals placed forward Nathan Walker on waivers and re-assigned defenseman Aaron Ness to AHL Hershey on Sunday, making room in the salary cap for center Travis Boyd to come off injured reserve.

If Walker clears waivers after 24 hours, he likely will join Ness in Hershey.
Boyd has yet to play this season, as he began the year on long-term injured reserve with a lower-body injury.
