Capitals: Ovechkin scores No. 699, Holtby’s not so great night and Dillons first game as a Capital

Despite being 34-years-old, Alexander Ovechkin, just keeps on trucking along, moving up the list of the greatest hockey players to ever step a foot on the ice.

Most predicted he’ll just slowdown this during this season, saying there’s no way he’s scoring 50 goals, let alone 40 goals. Well, he’s passed one of the doubts that many said he won’t accomplish.

At the 7:29 mark in the first period, Ovechkin scores goal No. 699 of his career and No. 41 of the season. During the chase to 700, Ovechkin passed many players like, Mario Lemieux (690), Steve Yzerman (692)and Mark Messier (694).
