The 2024 NHL Draft took place on June 28-29, as Capitals GM Brian MacLellan made a slew of moves to help benefit the team.
In the first round that took place on Friday, Washington selected Canadian right wing Terik Parascak with the 17th overall pick. Parascak, 18, previously played for the WHL’s Prince George Cougars, where he amassed 105 points (43 goals, 62 assists) in 68 games, the third-best on the team and eighth in the WHL.
On Saturday, the Capitals selected seven prospects, including defensemen Cole Hutson (43rd overall) and Leon Muggli (52nd overall), left wings Ilya Protas (75th overall) and Eriks Mateiko (90th overall), goaltender Nicholas Kempf (114th overall), and centers Petr Sikora (178th overall) and Miroslav Satan (212th overall).
