RALIEGH, N.C. — During this winning streak, the Washington Capitals have shown they can win by getting a lead and maintaining it, they can win with their special teams and they can rally from a multi-goal deficit. On Monday night, the Capitals showed they can win with goals coming only from their secondary scorers.
With two goals from their bottom-six forward corps, Washington beat the Carolina Hurricanes, 2-1, at PNC Arena for a sixth straight win before the team’s four-day holiday break.
The Capitals improved to 13-0-1 when getting goals from the third or fourth line.
