Capitals-Flyers: How the Game Was Won

Nine goals were scored at Capital One Arena last night, six of them belonging to the Washington Capitals – and two of those came off the stick of Connor McMichael, who is now one point behind Dylan Strome for the team scoring lead. While his first goal was a beauty of a breakaway, the second one really highlights what the new-look Caps have going for them (to say nothing of the Flyers’ current struggles at both ends of the ice).

At the time it simply felt like the cherry on top of the sundae that was a Caps’ rout over the hated Flyers, but by the end of the night, McMichael’s second goal stood up as the game-winner.
