Capitals defeat Sharks for fourth straight win

Jakub Vrana and Garnet Hathaway had two goals while John Carlson had three points and the Washington Capitals took care of a tough Western Conference foe. Their win improves their record to 20-4-5 with 45 points, tied with the Boston Bruins for the top record in the NHL.

The Sharks took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Melker Karlsson at 2:33. The Caps would tie it thanks to Hathaway deflecting in a shot from Carlson at 13:31. Nic Dowd had the secondary assist.

53 seconds later, Vrana took a pass in front of the net from Carlson, missed the first try off the cross bar but rebounded it in.
