Slowly working their way down to the 23-man, opening-day roster submission due in one week, the Washington Capitals released four more from their training camp Tuesday morning, sending three minor-league mainstays and one first-year prospect to preseason practices in Hershey.
Forwards Carter Camper, Paul Carey and Chris Bourque and defenseman Madison Bowey all made their final exhibition appearance during Monday night’s 3-1 victory over the New York Islanders at Barclays Center, receiving one last look from the Capitals’ coaching staff before heading to the minor leagues. Camper, Carey and Bourque will all need to pass through waivers before reassignment; Bowey can join the Bears at their camp immediately.
