Barry Trotz joins Bruce Boudreau and Bryan Murray by being the third Washington Capitals coach to win the Jack Adams Award. This award cements him as the best coach of the 2015-2016 NHL season, an accolade that is helped supported by the fact that the Washington Capitals were the best team in the NHL last year, capturing the Presidents’ Trophy with 120 points and having the most wins, with 56 wins overall.
By winning the Jack Adams Award, Trotz puts himself in good company and is very deserving of the award. Not only have the Washington Capitals continued to get better under him, their numbers have also been great as well.
