With a fresh roster flying to Boston for the Washington Capitals’ preseason road opener, none of whom played in Monday night’s 2-0 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, forward Marcus Johansson will remain at home, sidelined by an undisclosed injury that kept him off the ice Tuesday morning.
“He’s got a little injury somewhere on his body,” Coach Barry Trotz said. “I’m not going to do the upper or lower. Just somewhere on his body. It’s just minor.”
Among those projected onto the NHL roster this season, only Johansson and defenseman Taylor Chorney will have not appeared in an exhibition, assuming the 20-man crew that skated at Kettler Capitals Iceplex indeed appears against the Bruins.
