Capitals brace for four-day break, a challenge for goaltending

After playing six games in 10 days, the Washington Capitals now get a four-day break before their next game at the Detroit Red Wings. The days off will be good for some members of the team to heal, like defenseman Brooks Orpik, who’s missed two games with a “minor” lower-body injury. It could also spell trouble for the team’s goaltending.

“A little break for the guys that are banged up, I think that’s always good,” Capitals Coach Barry Trotz said. “The one thing that a break does sometimes is get you out of a rhythm, gets you into relaxed mode and away from your game mode.
