The Washington Capitals made another trade Monday afternoon to bolster their forward depth.
A few hours after acquiring Seattle Kraken forward Marcus Johansson, the Capitals added another versatile forward in Arizona Coyotes lefty Johan Larsson, according to multiple reports.
The Capitals have not yet announced the trade. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman was first to report the deal.
TSN’s Chris Johnston reported the Capitals are sending back a 2023 third-round pick to Arizona, with the Coyotes retaining 50% of Larsson’s contract.
In his 10th season in the NHL, Larsson is averaging more ice time — 17:52 — in 29 games with the Coyotes than in any other season of his career.
