Brian MacLellan continues reshaping his Washington Capitals, this time sending a second-round pick in 2025 to Calgary for forward Andrew Mangiapane. The 28-year-old winger has spent the last seven seasons with the Flames, posting 215 points in 417 career games, and posted 40 points in 75 games last season.

“The Washington Capitals have acquired forward Andrew Mangiapane from the Calgary Flames for a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft (originally from Colorado), president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.
Mangiapane, 28, recorded 40 points (14g, 26a) in 75 games with Calgary in 2023-24.
