Brooks Orpik a game-time decision with 'minor' upper-body injury

PHILADELPHIA—Defenseman Brooks Orpik will be a game-time decision for Washington’s game against the Flyers after he suffered what Capitals Coach Barry Trotz said was a “minor” lower-body injury in the second period against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. Orpik did not participate in the team’s morning skate at Wells Fargo Center on Thursday morning.

“I didn’t want to aggravate it just in the morning skate,” Trotz said. “We’ll see where he’s at after warmups, and then we’ll make a decision then. … He’s been around the wars for a long time. I know he’d be ready to play tonight if he feels like he can help us, so we didn’t want to aggravate anything unnecessarily.
