Bears Drop Game 1 to Monsters

After a first period “feeling-out” process, the Lake Erie Monsters displayed their outright domination of Game 1 in the Calder Cup Finals, winning 4-1. The Hershey Bears gave up four goals in a row over the last two periods to fall behind 0-1 in the series, ceding home-ice advantage to Lake Erie.

Justin Peters made his 17th consecutive start for the Bears, allowing four goals on 26 shots. He made three saves in the first period on breakaway chances for the Monsters. Anton Forsberg closed the door after the first period, finishing the game with 26 saves.
