Alexander Semin, formerly of the Washington Capitals, was put on waivers by the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday and was supposed to be sent to the AHL. However, Semin did not report. The Canadiens agreed to terminate his contract by placing him on unconditional waivers on waivers. Semin did not remain unemployed for long as he quickly searched for a KHL team to sign with. This morning, he decided to sign with Magnitogorsk Metallurg of the KHL.
