Alex Ovechkin to throw out first pitch for Nationals at NLDS Game 4

The Washington Nationals announced that Capitals star winger Alex Ovechkin will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Monday’s Game 4 of National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Ovechkin and several of his teammates made a memorable visit to Nationals Park for a regular-season game in June 2018. On that day the Stanley Cup was on display and Ovechkin, needing a do-over, threw a second ceremonial first pitch to Max Scherzer.

Scherzer is expected to start Monday for the Nationals. The game will begin at 6:40 p.m. at Nationals Park.

Washington also announced Medal of Honor recipient David Bellavia will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Sunday night’s game.
