Alex Ovechkin Scores Late as Caps Beat Predators

The Washington Capitals have been red hot at home this season as they beat the Nashville Predators 3-2. It’s the Caps’ seventh consecutive win at Capital One Arena as they improve to 9-3-0 on the season.

Connor McMichael scored Washington’s first goal to tie it up at 1-1 in the first period, while Aliaksei Protas recorded the team’s second goal off an Alex Ovechkin assist in the middle frame.

With the score tied at 2-2 midway through the third period, Ovechkin put the Capitals on top with career goal No. 861, needing only 34 tallies to pass Wayne Gretzky.
