Alex Ovechkin Scores 50th Again, Passes Brendan Shanahan for 13th Place on All-Time Goal Scoring List

With a goal against the Lightning on Saturday, Alex Ovechkin passed Brendan Shanahan on the all-time goal scoring list with his 657th, good for 13th place.

It’s also his 8th season with 50 or more goals, though last season he had 49.

He’ll need 11 more goals to tie the next guy on the list, as Luc Robitaille is sitting in 12th place with 668 career goals.

It’s likely that the 2019-20 season will be a big one for Ovi as he continues climbing up the all-time goal scoring list. Aside from Robitaille, he’ll likely be passing Teemu Selanne (684), Mario Lemieux (690), Steve Yzerman (692), and Mark Messier (694), and will be closing on on 700 for his career.
