Caps captain Alex Ovechkin scored his 640th career goal on last week against St. Louis, then scored his 641st on Tuesday against the Sharks, one better than Dave Andreychuk, to become the 14th-highest goal-scorer in NHL history.
Next on the list is Brendan Shanahan, who has 656 career goals. At the pace he’s scoring, Ovechkin should be able to catch him this season.
