The Washington Capitals have recalled two players from the Hershey Bears, per an official team release.
Center Andre Burakovsky, 19, and left wing Aaron Volpatti, 29, have both seen playing time with the Caps already this year, and the 29-year-old Volpatti was on assignment while recovering from an upper-body injury.
Burakovsky, Washington's first-round draft pick in 2013, has 13 points (four goals, nine assists) in 26 games for Washington so far this season. A physical, dynamic young player, Burakovsky was in Hershey to get some additional playing time under his belt.
Washington is currently fourth in the Metropolitan Division, and have taken points from eight consecutive games (six wins, two OT losses). The Caps host the Ottawa Senators on Monday night, then turn around to visit the New York Rangers on the second night of a back-to-back.
