Conference play officially starts this weekend for the Atlantic Coast Conference basketball teams, and while the Wake Forest men travel to Georgia Tech, the women host Miami on Sunday at 1pm in the Joel Coliseum.
The Deacs are 9-4 heading into conference play with wins over Towson, Mercer, Richmond, St. John’s, Charlotte, Maryland Eastern Shore, James Madison, South Carolina State, and Norfolk State, and losses to Virginia Commonwealth, Xavier, East Carolina, and Indiana.
The four losses came consecutively, and the Lady Deacs are riding a six game winning streak heading into conference play.
The team is led by senior forward Elisa Penna, who is averaging 15.
