For the second-straight year, U.S. News and World Report annual rankings of the best universities in the country placed Wake Forest University at 27. The methodology behind the ranking, however, reveals a more specific view about how the university compares to its peers.
In the 2013-14 year, Wake Forest was tied with University of Virginia, Carnegie Mellon University and University of Southern California. Since then, though, the latter two schools have stayed at 23 while UVA has fallen to 26.
Wake Forest and other schools in the national universities category are judged by 16 weighted factors.
