In 2005, a new interpretation of the Batman mythology was released. The film was titled Batman Begins and presented the creation of the vigilante in a darker and more realistic way, a much different presentation than the Schumacher-directed films of the 1990s. The film was the first to feature the complete origin story of Batman; finding inspiration in comic book stories such as “The Man Who Falls” (1989), written by Dennis O’Neil, and “Batman: Year One” (1987), written by Frank Miller.
In the first film of the trilogy, Bruce Wayne is a tormented young man. Despite the wealth in his life, he struggles to find a purpose.
